Edouard Brun is a small, family-owned Champagne House in the revered Grand Cru village of Aÿ. Founded in 1898, the House has stepped out of the shadow of history in recent years, evolving from a very traditional approach to a modern and fruit-driven style. And their Premier Cru Rose is fine example of this shift with tons of gorgeous strawberry, raspberry and cranberry fruit on a bed of creamy bubbles. The finish is fruit filled and moreish with a cleansing splash of ripe citrus acidity. The quality on show here is just brilliant, if you tasted this blind you wouldn’t believe it was a sub £40 Champagne.
