Vintage Prosecco is worlds apart from the inferior supermarket styles people have become accustom to in recent years. La Farra produce their wines slap bang in the middle of the Valdobbiadene region in Veneto, at the heart of the Prosecco superiore area. Owned by the three Nardi brothers and their sister they have been making Prosecco and sparkling wines seemingly forever and yet it is only in the last 20 years that they have started bottling wine under their own name and are now one of the most respected in the region. Their Vintage Rose is probably the best we’ve tasted, dry, fresh and impeccably balanced with juicy notes of ripe blackberry, wild strawberry, raspberry and a streak of lemony citrus before a subtle touch of red apple on the finish. Absolutely delicious.
