Description
If you’re yet to explore the historic and delicious world of Hungarian wines then there’s no better place to start than with the Gizella estate. Laszlo Szilagyi spearheads the wineries vision and winemaking prowess in the iconic Tokaj region located in the north-east of the country. Furmint is a Hungary’s flagship grape variety, it’s been grown in the region since the 16th century and can produce both dry and sweet wines. This is the sweet ‘Szamorodni’ version or translated to English “as it comes” because it’s made from whole grape bunches containing both healthy and noble-rotted berries producing a sweet dessert wine that’s over flowing with decadent flavours of ripe tropical fruit, honey and juicy apricot before a cleansing touch of citrus on the finish. An iconic wine from an iconic region, this is special. It will also age beautifully for many years to come, so grab two cases, one to drink now and one to drink in 10 years+ time!
