Description
Bodegas Ollauri is located in the heart of the Rioja Alta region, a short distance from Haro and Briones, in a tiny town with a long winemaking history, as witnessed by its stunning 17th and 18th century manor houses. Since 2014, this winery has taken on the legacy of the old Paternina house and the historic Conde de los Andes brand, one of the great names in Rioja winemaking and wine culture. Today, with the help of the MurĂșa family, Bodegas Ollauri-Conde de los Andes takes up a tradition that goes back several centuries. It was in 1896 when Federico Paternina created the winery where his ancestors had been making and storing wine since the 15th century. This winery has an impressive history but it also has the impressive wines to match. The Conde de los Andes Blanco 2016 is a full bodied, powerful white Rioja with a rich, creamy palate laced with ripe tropical fruit, spiced vanilla, and keen freshly picked Mediterranean citrus. This is a white built to last, and over the last 10 years has developed a stunning nutty finish. Incredible.
