Chateau Tayac 2013

£35.00

A classic Bordeaux with some lovely bottle age, the fruit is still very much there, with blackberry, dark cherry and plum but the extended aging has added more savoury, woody, leathery notes to an already complex palate. Roast lamb would make a wonderful pairing for this beautiful wine.

Château Tayac’s vineyards cover an area of 37 hectares, on the gravelly soils around Soussans. In the Portet family for 4 generations, this is very much a family affair. Guy Portet uses the Méthode Cousinié; a system of observation and analysis to maintain optimum vineyard health with minimal treatments. Nicolas Portet is the winemaker; the wine style is harmonious and well-balanced allowing the excellent quality of the fruit to shine through.
