TURINA MONIGA DEL GARDA LUGANA DOC 2019 (ITALY)

TURINA MONIGA DEL GARDA LUGANA DOC 2019 (ITALY)

A real classy wine, almonds and peaches, a wine you must seriously consider.

Moniga  Del Garda IGT. 100% Trebbiano grapes. The “Lugana DOC” wine arises from the old wine variety “Trebbiano di Lugana”, grown in layered clay soils, mostly calcareous, rich in mineral salts. Only these soils give this wine its features of extreme freshness and sapidity. Its colour is light straw yellow, with greenish glares. The taste is dry, exceptionally delicate with strong varietal aromas of almond and white peach.

Food Recommendations: Pairs very well with fish, seafood and white meats. It is also an excellent accompaniment with ripe cheeses.

Description

The wine cellar Turina is a family farm devoted to the cultivation of wine and olive-trees over many generations; at present it is managed by three brothers: Paolo, Luigi and Dario.
It was grandfather Luigi, who ventured into the first wine-making, confident that from the “Groppello”, native of Valtenesi, a wine would be obtained, appreciated by the customers for its tasty equilibrium and particularly fine qualities.

Nowadays, almost a hundred years later, it is still the “Groppello” that keeps the passion for wine-growing alive among the Turina brothers. Yearly, about 150.000 bottles of great DOC Garda Classico wines are produced from the 18 hectares of vineyard in Valtènesi, cultivated in absolute consideration for the environment, together with a more moderate bottle production quantity of extra-virgin olive oil.

The modern wine-making cellar, bottling and refinement, result of a series of investments started by father Gaudenzio in 1974, overlooks the road that connects Desenzano.
